A company which prides itself on being part of the
community is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Lutterworth Ford, in Leicester Road, was founded in
January 1993 by James Peake and his family and was awarded the Ford franchise in March 1993 which coincided with the launch of the Mondeo, the Sierra replacement.
The firm prides itself on serving and employing local people – several staff have been with the firm since its inception.
“We are a strong believer in spending money locally and are always looking to use local independent suppliers from
sandwiches for the forecourt shop to the sign writer, “Mr Peake said.
All its staff undergo regular training from the manufacturer and its workshop alone has more than 170 years’ collective experience. The firm’s newest member of staff is 11-month-old German Shepherd Scout who looks after the property and its large stock of vehicles overnight.
The latest edition to the business is the trade section sold under the Peake Autos name ran by James’s son Joe, which gives it flexibility when taking a car in on part-exchange.
It is holding an open day on Saturday, March 16, to celebrate the anniversary where its technicians will offer free vehicle health checks and there will be some special deals on new and used cars to celebrate the launch of the 13 plate.
Mr Peake said: “We are looking forward to servicing new and old customers’ vehicles for many years to come.”
It is now the only franchised dealer in the area and offers body repairs, car and van rental and even 24-hour fuel.
