A ENGINEERING firm has revealed expansion plans which would bring a further boost to Harborough’s jobs market.
TGW Logistics wants to build its new HQ in a two-storey complex at Peaker Park off Rockingham Road in a move which would create 30 new jobs.
It is the latest good news for jobs in Harborough, after supermarket giant Waitrose last month began recruiting for 120 full and part-time workers in a range of posts for its new store in Springfield Street.
A new Marston’s pub at Peaker Park, due to open on July 16, is also expected to create 75 jobs.
A retirement village and garage has already created more than 150 jobs on the same site.

TGW Logistics, which supplies of automation for warehousing, production and distribution operations, wants to move to Peaker Park from its present base at The Point as part of expansion plans.
If planning permission is granted by Harborough District Council, it will see a 12,000 sq ft office complex built.
The firm, which has an annual turnover of more than £30m, already employees more than 80 people, but the move would create an additional 30 jobs.
It is also recruiting for five engineering apprentices aged 16-17.

Phil Steeds, sales director at TGW said, “In line with our growth plans, we are committed to establishing a positive presence in the town.
“As well as providing a significant jobs boost for the area, the apprenticeship scheme is designed to foster young talent to benefit the company, and the individuals, now and into the future.”
