People aged 16 to 25 in the Harborough district are being invited to join a 12-week course which will see them take on exciting challenges while working towards national qualifications.
The Prince’s Trust is holding its Team Programme scheme in Harborough starting on Monday, January 27.
It offers to improve confidence and leadership skills and boost young people’s employment prospects.
As well as encouraging people to take part, the trust is looking for businesses to help by offering work experience placements for those on the programme.
It also wants to hear from community groups with projects that the participants could work on.
Week one of the course, which is being run out of the former Copperfield Hotel on the corner of Welland Park Road and Northampton Road in town, will see participants set out what they want to achieve.
Week two will include a trip away taking part in activities such as canoeing, climbing or raft-building, while weeks three to six will see participants take on a project to benefit the community.
Work placements, CV writing, interview skills, a team challenge and a presentation make up the rest of the course, which is being run in conjunction with Tresham College, Harborough Council and the JobCentre.
Team leader Matt Ottley said the course has been running successfully in Northants.
