Beavering away at festive service

HARBOROUGH and District beaver scouts had a Christingle celebration at Burton Overy Village Hall.

It was attended by 65 youngsters from across the district, leaders and a few parents.

The event was organised by the district’s mother beaver Pauline Wells, who told them the story of Christingle and what it means. Beaver scouts had made their Christingles at their own meetings earlier and took them along.

They enjoyed a festive sing-song, played seasonal games, and had a visit from Santa, who gave each of them a small gift.

Mrs Wells said: “It was a very enjoyable occasion for us all and I was grateful for the tremendous help I received from my main helpers – the two Anns.”
