A YOUNG mum accused of causing unnecessary suffering to her child is to stand trial at crown court.
The Harborough woman and a co-accused man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are accused of one count of wilfully assaulting, ill-treating, neglecting, abandoning or exposing a child to suffering.

The charge has been brought under the Children and Young Persons Act 1933. Both deny the allegation and Harborough magistrates on Tuesday committed the pair to Leicester Crown Court for a hearing on April 27. They must remain anonymous at this stage of proceedings after magistrates imposed a court order.
