Woman airlifted in Bringhurst car smash

A WOMAN driver has been airlifted to hospital after a head-on smash in Bringhurst.
Fire crews from Corby, Uppingham and Oakham attended the scene outside Bringhurst Primary School in Great Easton Road, Bringhurst, at about 11.45am today (Thursday, May 15).

The female driver of a green Peugeot 306, believed to be aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance suffering from suspected chest injuries.

A driver of the other car, a Volkswagen estate, was on his way to the Site Equipment Demonstration show in Corby when the crash occured.

He suffered minor injuries and did not need hospital treatment.

Parts of the road have been closed off by police investigating the crash.
