VANDALS smashed a window at Harborough police station after throwing beer bottles at the building.
Hundreds of pounds worth of damage was caused after a bottle was thrown through a large 6ft by 4ft first floor window overnight between Saturday and Sunday.

The station was manned at the time but the culprits were not seen as the window belonged to a meeting room which was not in use at the time.

Sgt Pete Jelbert, of Harborough police, said the beer bottle had been recovered and sent off for fingerprinting.

He added: "There were a few smashed bottles below the window so they'd obviously been there throwing them for a reasonable amount of time."

He appealed for witnesses to phone police on 0116 2222222.
