SINGERS, jugglers, magicians and comedians are being urged to step into the limelight and take part in a talent competition in Lutterworth during this year's Feast Week.
Lutterworth's Got Talent is a new competition being staged for the first time this year.
Entrants will perform at one of three heats being staged at the Sir Frank Whittle pub, The Shambles and the Red Arrow, in the week leading up to carnival day
on Saturday, August 14.
Those selected at the three heats will take place in a grand final on carnival day with the aim of being chosen as the winner.
Katy Butler, from Lutterworth Town Council, said there had already been a number of entries but the organisers of the competition were eager to find more before Feast Week.
She added: "We have a few entries but we want it to be a really good competition so we are appealing for some more.
"Anyone with a talent for singing, dancing or anything can take part."
Anyone wishing to take part will be performing in front of a panel of independent judges and a live audience, and on carnival day will be taking to the main stage at the Coventry Road recreation ground.
Entry forms can be found at the three pubs listed above which are hosting the heats and can also be picked up from the Lutterworth Town Council office in Coventry Road.
Alternatively, phone 01455 550225 for more details.
l A flower girl who was chosen at this year's John Wycliffe Primary School fete in June has met Lutterworth mayor Ray Perkins.
Lauren Moore (9), from Maino Crescent, is a pupil at Wycliffe Primary School.
She was selected at the fete on the day but was not included in the original photograph because of a mistake made by the town events working party.
Lauren's mum Jo Moore said Lauren was chosen as the winner on the day but she was left out of the photograph.
A spokesman for the town events working party, which organises the carnival, said the mistake had arisen because of an admin oversight.
