A RESHUFFLE of Harborough District Council's cabinet has been announced a year after the Conservative group took office.
The Tories took control of the council from the Liberal Democrats after an election in May 2007 but 12 months after taking the reins, the executive committee has been changed.

Council leader Graham Hart said: “The majority-led Conservative group of councillors have looked at reformatting the executive portfolios with a focus on becoming more strategic, cover all roles undertaken by the council and becoming more output-based and forward-looking in structure.”

Alistair Swatridge has been made deputy leader and Harborough councillor Paul Bremner has been drafted in.

But long-standing councillor Rosita Page and Cllr David Beaty are no longer part of the team.

Titles of portfolios have also been changed to bring them into line with the Government’s Local Area Agreements.
