FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling a blaze today (Thursday) on a farm which has reportedly destroyed about 100 all terrain-vehicles and motorbikes.
Fire crews were called out to Springfield Farm, at Tilton on the Hill, in the early hours of this morning.

The site is the headquarters of Tilton ATV which advertises itself as one of the largest off-road distributors in Europe, selling, servicing and repairing new and used all-terrain vehicles and quad bikes.

The damage will likely cost hundred of thousands of pounds.

Five fire engines and a water bowser from stations across the county tackled the blazed from about 1am.

Firefighters saved a neighbouring farmhouse by spraying it with compressed air-foam which protected it from the intense fire.

Pumps were said to be still at the scene at midday today.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
