A HAIR salon in Harborough held a fashion night which raised £300 for charity.
Toni&Guy, of St Mary’s Place shopping centre in Harborough, held its Catwalk 2009 event on June 1 at The Oat Hill pub in Kettering Road, Little Bowden.

About 85 people attended and the cash raised will go to the Toni&Guy Charitable Foundation established in 2003 by Toni Mascolo and wife Pauline and which supports a number of charities and projects such as a children’s ward at King's College Hospital in London, HIV charity the Terrence Higgins Trust and the Fondazione children’s refuge in Italy.

Toni&Guy salons from across the country regularly hold fundraising events for the benefit of the foundation, with this event being the Harborough branch’s first fashion show for the foundation.

Stylists from the Harborough salon worked with 20 models who came from TopShop’s Kettering branch, which also kindly supplied clothes for the event.

The catwalk was set up in the gardens of The Oat Hill and a raffle was held half-way through the night with prizes donated by generous shops in Harborough.

Lauren Landthaller, a second-year assistant at the salon, said: “It was a fantastic evening and all the models were great.”

Daniel Weedon, top stylist at the Harborough branch, added: “It was a really good night, I was happy to see the amount of people who turned up to support us in raising money. Thank you to everyone who got involved.”
