VOLUNTEERS will tackle one of Harborough's grot spots in the first of two clean-up days planned in the town.
Harborough Improvement Team’s environment group will be cleaning up an area of land next to the Market Hall car park, in Northampton Road, on Saturday.

The land, which houses a phone mast but is otherwise disused, is owned by Sainsbury’s, which has given the group permission to go in and tidy it up as well as offering staff to help and refreshments for those who take part.

A second spring-clean of the town’s grot spots is planned for May 31 and the group is asking people to nominate areas they believe have become eyesores or dumping grounds so volunteers can choose the most appropriate places to tackle.

To get involved with the May 31 clean-up or nominate a grot spot email ian.opray@harboroughmail.co.uk, and we will forward the details to the group.
