THIEVES have made off in a Volkswagen Golf after stealing the car keys from a home in Harborough.
The burglary happened in Thatch Meadow Drive between 10.40pm on Thursday (October 30) and 6.30am on Friday (October 31).

Police only released the information today (Wednesday, Nov 5).

A blue jacket with a wallet inside containing cash and bank
cards was also stolen in the raid.

The Volkswagen Golf GT in blue, registration number YG58 SLZ.

It is the latest 'car key theft' to blight Harborough district.

The Mail reported last week how a Fleckney couple awoke to find the keys to their Mini has been stolen while they slept.

Crooks also tried to 'fish' for car keys in an attempted theft at a home in South Kilworth by poking a garden cane through the letterbox.

PC Michelle Palmer, investigating the incident, said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen some suspicious activity in the area between these times that could be linked to this incident to get in touch.

"If you have any information about the burglary or any information as the current whereabouts of the stolen car then I would urge you to make contact."

People can contact PC 4597 Palmer on 0116 2222222, officer ID 4597.
