BURGLARS fled empty handed after they were disturbed during a break-in at a pub.
The thieves were trying to steal a safe from the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Great Bowden in the early hours of last Thursday morning (March 11).

But they were forced to make a quick getaway after a man living above the pub heard the commotion and phoned police.

Three men, all wearing dark hooded tops, were seen leaving the pub before joining a fourth man who was waiting outside.

Insp Neal Holland, head of Harborough police, appealed for witnesses to the break-in, which happened between 4am and 4.30am.

Contact police on 0116 2222222.
