A HUGE annual agricultural show in Blaston on Sunday (June 28) has been hailed as one of the best ever in the 52-year history of the event.
For the full list of results, see below.

The Blaston and District Agricultural Show, held on fields off Blaston Road in Slawston, was blessed with fantastic weather and a record turnout on the gate.

This year's festivities saw a new showground layout, improved visitor attractions and new branding which led to the event being heralded as one of the most successful ever.

The show, which raises thousands of pounds for charity, featured gymkhanas, fair rides, 30 trade stands, classic cars, vintage tractors, driven ponies, crafts, terrier racing, horse and pony classes as well as dog, hound, sheep and goat showing.

Show director Oliver Lee, part of an all-new management committee for this year, said: "The entire management team and organisers of the different sections were ecstatic with how the show went. There was a real buzz around the place and everybody was very complementary about the changes introduced. We had all worked tirelessly for the past nine months to ensure that the day was a success so it was particularly pleasing to have achieved what we had hoped."

The committee thanked residents and businesses for all their support.
A final fundraising total is yet to be tallied but will be announced at a later date.

Rupert West, chairman of the show, added: "Early figures suggest we have smashed all previous records for the gate and entries for all classes were up considerably."
