Members of Desborough Amateur Dramatic Society are putting the finishing touches to the group’s last ever production.

Calendar Girls, which opens on Monday (March 11) will feature a number of former actors who are making a special return.

The play is being staged at Desborough Roman Catholic Church Hall, Victoria Street, and runs until Saturday, March 16.

Group member Stella Freeman, who joined the society in 1962, said the group was being forced to call it a day because of falling membership – which had meant a shortage of actors, directors and backstage helpers.

The group was founded more than 80 years ago.

Tickets cost £5, with concessions for the Monday show only, and are available from Burditts Shop in Station Road, Desborough.
