TWO singing sisters who appeared on this year’s X Factor are heling raise money for a Leicester foundation set up in memory of a youngster who died earlier this year.

Mia and the Moon, from Lutterworth, reached the bootcamp phase of this year’s X Factor, but walked out of the competition after feeling they were being pushed into staging arguments for the cameras.

The duo features sisters Mary-Anne and Laura Ratcliffe – and they are also hoping to take on the X Factor in a battle for the Christmas number one.

They are appearing at a fundraiser this Sunday (December 16) in memory of a Leicester tot, Bodie Hodges, who died in May after choking at home when he was just ten-months-old.

His family have since established The Bodie Hidges Foundation, which aims to buy a holiday property which can be used by griving parents following the death of a child.

The all-day music event is taking place at The Crumblin’ Cookie in Leicester’s High Street and Mia and the moon are one of more than 20 acts scheduled to play.

As well as music, the event will feature an art exhibition and an auction.

Other acts playing on the day include Leicester band The Simpletones.

Entry to the event, which is expected to start at about 1pm and run until the late hours, is £5.
