Ben Arthur

Ben Arthur

AN AMERICAN singer/songwriter with six albums and two novels to his name is playing a gig at Glooston Village Hall next Saturday (November 17).

Ben Arthur has worked with and supported artists including Tori Amos, Dave Matthews, Bruce Hornsby, Shawn Colvin, Toots and the Maytalls and Sophie B Hawkins.

His new album, If you Look for my Heart, explores the themes of his novel of the same name.

Ben makes very short, sporadic tours to England and on a previous tour said he had fallen in love with the intimacy and warmth of gigging in Glooston.

Live performances, interviews, videos and covers of Ben’s songs by other artists can be found on line at Youtube, Facebook, iLike, LastFM etc.

David Henderson, one of the gig organisers, said: “On Pandora, Ben’s songs have logged half a million plays.

“This is a rare opportunity, to see this major talent and is a gig not to be missed.”

Tickets for the event, which will start at 7.45pm, are £10 in advance or £12 on the door, and include a light supper. There is a licensed bar.

Ticket numbers are strictly limited so be quick to avoid disappointment.

David added: “The evening will conclude with the music of popular local band Bluesdon, for those of you who need a bop on a Saturday night.”

Tickets are available on 07970 115 958 or e mail erikjohnwhitemall@aol.co.uk.
