A HARBOROUGH band has fought its way into the second round of a competition to find the area’s best original band.

Dirty Future formed two years ago when longtime friends Tim Woolley, Dan Fordham, Joe Inman-Hall and Dominic Quintiliani decided to combine their musical talents.

Since then, the band has played a number of gigs in Harborough and in Leicester.

Recently, they have been taking part in a competition organised by Leicester venue The Musician which aims to find the best bands in the area playing their own, original, music.

The band won their way through the first round of the competition and this Saturday (April 14) they will once again appear at The Musician, in Clyde Street, hoping to win a place in the semi-finals.

Lead singer Dan Fordham said: “We’ve all been good friends for a long time and a couple of years ago we decided to form the band.

“Things have been going well since then and we’ve got lots of gigs lined up.”

Dan said the band’s main influences are from The Doors and Madchester pioneers The Stone Roses.

Apart from their appearance at The Musician, the band are also playing at the O Bar, in Leicester’s Braunstone Gate, on Thursday, April 26.
