Dallas comes to Brixworth
BRIXWORTH Drama Group presents two one-act comedies from tonight (Thursday) until Saturday.
First up is Slim Chance, an hilarious comedy by Peter Gordon which centres on a slimming club and the various characters who attend.
The second play, Brenton versus Brenton by David Tristram, is an epic saga of lust, greed, power and wealth which spoofs American soaps and epic mini-series.
Sue I’Anson, chairman of the drama group, said: “Once again our reading group have found plays which are extremely funny and entertaining.
“Brenton versus Brenton is by the same writer who gave us the Little Grimley plays which were performed with such success a few years ago. Think Dallas comes to Brixworth.
“Slim Chance is by a new writer for us but it is a gem. On first read through it had everyone laughing as many of us could identify with the larger than life characters. The humour is adult in places and there is something for everyone.”
The plays will be performed at Brixworth Village Hall from 7.45pm each evening. Tickets cost £6 from Lovell’s Hardware and The George pub in Brixworth.
