AN ATMOSPHERIC concert by candlelight will put music lovers in the festive spirit.

The Harborough Collective are performing their Christmas concert at The Congregational Church in High Street, Harborough, on Friday, December 21.

Called A Winter’s Tale, the candle-lit concert will feature Bach’s ‘Brandenburg Concerto No 5’, Corelli’s ‘Christmas Concerto’, ‘In The Bleak Midwinter’, by Holst, Debussy’s ‘The Snow is Dancing’, ‘Winter’ by Vivaldi and Purcell’s ‘Next Winter Comes Slowly’.

The show will be directed by David Le Page, who formed the Harborough Collective in 2010 with the aim of bringing to Harborough high-quality concerts performed by the best local professional musicians.

David will also play violin, joined by Catherine Leech, also on violin, Carmen Flores on viola, Nicj Stringfellow on cello, Meherban Gillet on double bass, Lisa Nelson on flute and David Gordon on harpsichord.

Tickets cost £15 (concessions £12, accompanied under 18s free).

There will be complimentary mulled wine and mince pies courtesy of The Three Swans Hotel.
