English wine expert’s appearance on The Apprentice

THE HARBOROUGH area had another link to the popular Apprentice TV show when Julia Trustram Eve made an appearance on this year’s series.

On Tuesday, last year’s Apprentice winner Tom Pellereau visited Mistrys Pharmacy in High Street, Harborough, to show off his s-shaped nail file invention.

It followed an appearace by Mrs Trustram Eve, of Wilbarston, on this year’s series of the show on Wednesday last week in her position as director of English Wine Producers.

The episode, broadcast at 9pm, saw the remaining hopefuls attempt to raise awareness of English Sparkling Wine by producing a website, branding and a promotional video.

Mrs Trustram Eve, who is also a member fo the Harborough Small Business Alliance, was on the judging panel along with other big players in the English wine producing industry.

Their cringe-worthy efforts, including a cheesy promotional video from one team which a Year 7 drama group would have been embarrassed by, were critiqued by the panel before the verdicts were passed back to Lord Sugar.

The scenes, filmed at London’s Bibendum wine company, show the panel looking mostly unimpressed.

The aforementioned video was described as tacky, with the other team’s efforts are dismissed as boring.

The show is still available to view on BBC iPlayer
