Electrician Carl provides spark with romantic stunt

Carl 'Cupid' Winston with girlfriend Roxanne Pepper at Harborough Library

If you were in Harborough Library last Thursday you could be forgiven for thinking you’d dozed off and were experiencing a rather strange dream.

For there was a sight to behold in the usually peaceful surroundings, as boyfriend Carl Winston went above-and-beyond for a special Valentine’s Day gesture.

Electrician Carl, from Dingley, surprised his library worker girlfriend Roxanne Pepper by arriving at her work in a Cupid costume.

In a charming email to the Mail, she said: “Romance is still quite alive within this small town of Harborough, when my boyfriend visited me on Valentines Day whilst I was working at Harborough Library.

“With bow and arrow in hand, he definitely put a spark back into my love life! I thought his effort definitely deserved some acknowledgement, as my face wasn’t the only one wearing a smile – plenty of the public were, too.”

Impressive work Carl – and raising the benchmark for other beaus in the district!
