Cold War jets make airfield appearance

BRUNTINGTHORPE Airfield is showing off its unique collection of Cold War-era jets this Sunday.

Gates for the huge event open at 9am at Bruntingthorpe Airfield for the Cold War Jets Collection open day.

Organiser Dave Walton said: “This will enable the public to experience one of the jewels of the UK’s aircraft preservation.”

Among the attractions will be the appearance of three Buccaneers taxiing in close formation and the eagerly-awaited debut of the L29 Delphin.

Aircraft will carry out high-speed runs throughout the day and there will also be opportunities to view cockpits of static aircraft.

Adults £15, senior citizens/disabled £10 children under-16 free
