Your comments were saddening

I WAS saddened at the derogatory comments about our church, St Nicholas in Little Bowden, by Jean Calder (Letters, June 4).
I was one of the fundraising members and I attend regularly.

We have a wonderful extension and opportunity for coffee, fellowship after services, disabled facilities, meeting rooms, etc.

As a person with walking difficulties, the main entrance in is totally disability-friendly. It was a long overdue extension. How insulting to the regular church users were the crematorium comments. Had you watched the growth of our extension, you would have seen the care and craftsmanship that went into roofing and stonework.

The extension is a marvellous memorial to many former worshippers and present ones.

Many worshippers at St Nicholas would gladly welcome Jean Calder to our services; try the 10.45am every Sunday - I recommend it. God bless you.

Myra Brodie,

Harborough.
