ON FRIDAY, Lutterworth experienced its Christmas Lights Switch On (see pages 10 and 11 for photo report).
I believe that it was yet another great success for Lutterworth and the Town Council’s Events Working Party (helped by the co-operation of the weather!).

I know that lots of people put a lot of effort into the evening and the list is too long for
this letter, but includes all those that were involved with the organisation, setting up, marshalling, police, firefighters, ambulance crews, first aiders, those that ran stalls, The King, Queen and flower girls, the schools, the band, those that entered the competitions and dressed their shop windows and, not least, all of you that turned up. I would like to publicly thank all of you. Not to forget all those who bought raffle tickets for my appeal and those that gave the prizes and helped to sell them.

As always there are many unsung heroes of such events and I trust I haven’t left anyone out.

If anyone wishes to add a little something to the Mayor’s Appeal or the Civic Ball, please contact me on billpiper@hotmail.co.uk or Lutterworth Town Council on 01455 550225. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

Bill Piper,

Lutterworth Town Mayor
