A thank you for kindness

WE hear so many claims nowadays that people 'think of no-one but themselves'.
While this may be true of some, there are still people around who are kind and caring.

I experienced an incident proving this on June 15 when I caught my toe on a kerb while in Clarence Street this morning and fell, quite literally, flat on my face.

A couple came out from one of the houses, helped me to my feet and took me into their home where they bathed my face and attended to my upper lip which was bleeding profusely.

They offered to take me to a casualty department but I declined their kind offer as I knew it wasn’t really necessary.

After a short while I was able to continue, although I probably looked like the loser in a rather tough boxing match!

I hope the couple will see this letter and know how much I appreciated their kindness and how uplifting it is to know that people like them do still exist.

Janet Thompson,

Park Drive,

Harborough.
