AN EXCITING line-up is promised at this year's Spratton Folk Festival.
Devon-based folk singer Ella Edmondson, the daughter of comedians Adrian Edmondson and Jennifer Saunders, is due to play at the three-day festival.

She was to be joined by her dad and his punk-folk band, The Bad Shepherds, but organisers say the band was forced to pull out after they were double-booked.

Other acclaimed acts set to appear at the fifth annual festival include Skyclad, 3 Daft Monkeys and Colvin Quarmby.

Alongside the headline acts are an extensive line-up of workshops, children’s activities, dancing, crafts stalls and beer tents.

This festival, which takes place from Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12, has this year been extended from two days to three.

Spratton resident and one of the festival organisers, Barry Frenchman, said: “Spratton Folk Festival is all about the village coming together. We are a community proud to be staging our own fifth folk festival. We have grown year on year and, not only are we supported by the parish council, but we have massive input from young people in the village, who have helped to shape this year’s line-up.”

A three-day ticket for the event costs £25 but ‘early bird’ discounts are available for people booking before June 22.
