An incredible maze designed in the shape of Tutankhamun's Mask will be amazing visitors to Wistow, north of Harborough, this summer.

Due to open on Saturday (July 19), the maze is set in eight acres of maize and sunflower crop and features more than three miles of intricate pathways.

The maze also incorporates high level bridges and viewing towers giving visitors stunning 3D panoramic views of the giant maze and beautiful countryside.

The award-winning Wistow Maze welcomed more than 14,000 visitors last year and owner Diana Brooks is confident the Egyptian theme will prove as successful as the exhibition at the O2 in London, which has now been extended untill the end of August due to popular demand.

And it is not only London that has fallen under the spell of the ancient Pharoahs. In addition to Tutankhamun gracing the fields at Wistow, Leicestershire County Council
has also chosen an Egyptian theme for the Market Towns Initiative this summer.

Diana said: "With the enormous interest in both the exhibition in London and the new Indiana Jones film, our maze, together with our quiz trail themed on Ancient Civilizations will be a big hit with all ages this summer."

"There will also be the opportunity to test your maze-solving skills before entering the 'real thing' with a variety of mini mazes, games and table top activities in our Activity Funyard" she added.

The Wistow Rural Centre has a café/bistro, garden centre, model village, new farm shop, aquatic centre and many shops selling furniture, gifts, jewellery and much more.
Toilets available on site.

The Wistow Maze is open seven days a week until Sunday, August 31, (then weekends only until September 21), 10am until 6pm (last admission 4.30pm). Free Parking.
Admission charges: Adults £4.95 Children £3.95 Family Ticket (2+2) £16.00.

The Wistow Maze is five miles south of Leicester and opposite the Wistow Rural Centre, which is signed from the A6 at Great Glen & Kibworth and the A5199 at Kilby.
