GREEN-fingered Dunton Bassett residents are hoping for sunshine this Sunday as the village hosts its first open gardens event for 14 years.
A total of 14 gardens will be open between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, and among these is Dunton Bassett Primary School’s new sensory garden, which was built by a team of volunteers from Everards Brewery.
There will be a host of activities, games and attractions across the village, including ploughman’s lunches at the village hall, plant, book and greetings card stalls and a tombola.
All Saints Church will be open for refreshments and youngsters are invited to a teddy bear parachute drop from the church tower, with all brave bears taking part receiving a certificate.
Admission to the event is by programme and these are available from the village hall.
All money raised will be split between the Hope Against Cancer charity, All Saints Church and the village hall.
