AN APPEARANCE by two soap stars in Lutterworth which was due to take place tonight (Friday) has been delayed because of red tape.
Philip Olivier, who starred in Brookside for seven years, and Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street, were due to appear at the Phoenix Club at the Fairacres Travelling Showmens' site.

However, organiser Peter Cutler said a mistake on an application form for a licence for the event means the event cannot go ahead tonight and will now be held on Friday, November 20.

He said: "I'm devastated. The owners of the Phoenix Club filled in the application form but made a mistake with one number and as a result it can't go ahead.

"We've tried desperately to get Harborough District Council to let it go ahead, but they have said there is no way it can happen."

Mr Cutler said everyone who had bought tickets was being offered a refund if they could not attend the rearranged date.

He added: "The original tickets will be honoured of course."

More details on how to obtain refunds will be published when they area available.
