A HARBOROUGH actor now plying his trade in London and soon to appear in a BBC drama is appearing at Harborough Theatre on Saturday.
Drew Webb, who is in the forthcoming BBC drama Filth as Julie Walters’ son, is staging one-man show Rum and Vodka at the town venue from 7.45pm.
Before moving away he appeared in Harborough Drama Society productions such as Playboy of The Western World and Romeo and Juliet.
His show is a version of Conor McPherson’s abrasive, challenging and darkly comic play. Drew plays the washed-up, spaced out and highly pained anti-hero. It charts the mishaps, misery and often painfully funny misfortune of a 20-something alcoholic from small town Ireland.
The play is being directed by Drew’s fiancée and fellow drama school graduate Rachel Marwood. The show features an original soundtrack by London band Inner City Folk.
Tickets cost £9 (£8 concessions) and are available from ABC Music in St Mary’s Road, Harborough.
