AN EXTENSIVE collection of Cold War jets go on display this weekend at Bruntingthorpe Airfield.
The event, on Sunday (May 25), will feature a variety of aircraft, including the Comet, Victor, Lightning and Buccaneer completing high-speed taxi runs on the airfield's two mile runway.

The collection has been boosted this year by the arrival of a an ex-Luftwaffe Lockheed F-104G Starfighter.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to view Vulcan XH558, recently restored at the airfield, as well as meet with and talk to air and ground crew responsible for successfully guiding the bomber through her test programme.

There will be cockpit tours of the static aircraft in the collection, including the Super Guppy.

A wide range of souvenirs and memorabilia will also be available.

The event, from 10am until 4pm, costs £12 for adults and is free to children under 16.
