Barrels of fun at pubs' real ale fests

THE CHERRY Tree pub in Little Bowden is hosting its eighth annual summer beer festival this Bank Holiday weekend.
The Church Walk pub will have a selection of 19 beers and two ciders.

It starts at 6pm on Friday and includes a hog roast from 7.30pm until 10.30pm, with music from Harborough Band’s Oompah section from 8pm until 10.45pm.

On Saturday the festival runs from midday until 11pm, with another hog roast from 6pm to 10pm, and traditional jazz and blues with the Welland Valley Stompers from 8pm to 10.45pm. If there is any left, the ales and ciders will also be served on Sunday and Monday.

l The Bulls Head, Arthingworth, is also holding a festival featuring 20 ales and six ciders at the weekend. The Kelmarsh Road pub is open from midday to 11pm on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday and will be hosting live music, as well as holding a barbecue each day.
