A LITTLE-known show which was the first collaboration between Andrew Lloyd-Webber and lyricist Tim Rice is being staged by Market Harborough Musical Theatre for six shows from next Tuesday, March 23.
The Likes of Us, which tells the story of Dr Thomas Barnardo and his campaign to rescue destitute children in 19th century London, is being staged by the town group at Welland Park College's Octagonal Theatre in Welland Park Road, Harborough.
The shows takes place every night (7.30pm) between next Tuesday and next Saturday, March 27, with a 2.30pm matinee also scheduled for the Saturday. A gala night on Wednesday, March 24, will see a presentation and buffet held from 5.30pm by Barnardo's staff to raise money and awareness for the charity.
Tickets cost £8-£10 and are available from Harborough Council's offices in Adam and Eve Street, Harborough. For details about the gala night or to reserve a space, ask when buying your ticket. Tickets can also be ordered by emailing tickets.mhmt@yahoo.co.uk
