THE Chequers in High Street, Swinford, won Best Floral Display by a Public House in last year's awards so Chris and Brian Priest have entered again to defend their title.
The couple have run the popular country pub for 21 years.

Brian (54) said: "Very much like last year, we have four troughs and hanging baskets both teeming with bedding plants such as fuschias, busy lizzies, lobelia and geraniums. I buy in the large baskets but plant the lower ones myself."

The back of the pub is mainly laid to lawn with children's play equipment to keep the younger patrons occupied, together with flower beds and borders and a small decorative wheelbarrow.
