HOWARD Fay says his garden is now 10-years-old and it has improved each year.
In his nomination, he said his wife Cynthia originally started with some cuttings of polyanthus from Jesse, a gardener at Cottesbrooke Hall who lived nearby.

The garden at their home in Harborough Road, Maidwell, usually has something at its best throughout the year, starting with a Christmas tree which Cynthia lights up.

Then follow snowdrops, primroses and tulips in succession and many other plants besides that make a colourful English country garden.

In the summer there are hops and for the 10th year, Cynthia has made a feature with a two-tier planter which was planted by Park Nurseries, Welland Park.

Seeing how it was done, she hopes to do it herself next year.

She enjoys sharing plants by passing cuttings from her garden to friends. Herbs, gooseberries and blackcurrents grow side by side with the flowers.
