ANTHEA Lacey is the cook at the Cherry Tree pub in Little Bowden, Harborough, and she wrote in nominating Alun and Rosemary Nash for their display of hanging baskets.
The couple have been running the popular pub on the Kettering Road for nine years and won the Mail's Garden Awards in 2005 and 2006.

This year the 10 baskets at the front of the pub are superb and Alun said he has tried to give them a 'cottage' feel.

People are also impressed by the five baskets in the adult garden. All of them tumble over with a multi-coloured display and fragrant array of trailing lobelias, petunias, daisies and geraniums, all grown from seed in the couple's greenhouse.

There are also pretty, aromatic sweet peas in a multitude of colours, which were planted in containers.

And there are containers dotted around with an assortment of different varieties of flowers and plants, including pretty marigolds.
