KARTING ace Brad Fairhurst has been nominated in the Junior Sportsman of the Year category.
The Harborough 15-year-old, who attends the town’s Robert Smyth School, has had another high-flying season on the track.

In the eight-round British Junior Easykart Championship, which concluded last month (October), he finished second overall after recording an impressive series of results - taking three wins, a second and a third.

It was an improvement on last year’s showing, were he also did well, finishing third. His aim at the start of the year was to finish in the top two, a goal he has achieved.

The championship took him to tracks across the UK, from the Lake District and Dorset to South Wales.

His second-place finish ensured his qualification for the World Easykart Championship in Siena, Italy, where he raced against 70 other juniors from 15 countries during the four-day world tournament.

He will soon move up to the senior ranks.
