Website a one-stop shop for info

A REVAMPED website has been launched in a bid to make it easier for people to access information about Harborough District Council and the community.

The ‘My Harborough’ website enables people to log on to the council’s website to find out specific information about where they live, simply by typing in their postcode.

Residents can find out information about their bin collection dates, ward councillors, planning applications and beat bobby contacts.

There are also details about tourist attractions and places to stay as well as information on doctors’ surgeries, dentists, schools, heritage sites,

recycling and waste sites, Post Offices, pay points and banks, car parks, tree preservation orders, roadworks and Job Centres.

It has been designed to make information easier to find, with just a few clicks of a mouse.

Cllr Blake Pain, who has responsibility for community engagement at the council, said: “This is a fantastic facility which I know people will use and find very helpful. It is a virtual one-stop-shop of local information and, because it works using your postcode, it is tailored around the individual. A huge amount of work has gone in to pulling all this information together and we are delighted local people will benefit.”
