Video: Ringing for Royalty

Waiting for Video...

BELLS rang out from churches along the length of the Welland Valley on Monday to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Mail photographer Alison Bagley captured the video (above) of bell-ringers at East Farndon taking part in the cascade of bells, which started in Sibbertoft at 9am and finished in Fosdyke at The Wash at 9pm.

Rosalind Watts, who took part in ringing the bells at Dingley and Sutton Basett and Medbourne, said: “It was wonderful for so many churches to unite in this cascade of sound and for the ringing to be combined with other local celebrations.”
