Try out new tastes for Food Fortnight

DELICACIES and food treats will be on offer at several outlets in the Harborough district as part of Leicestershire Food Fortnight.

The food fest has been running since 2008 and each year, the event gathers more momentum as food businesses from all over the county get involved.

Andrew Bacon, chairman of the Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership which is backing the event, said: “We have an excellent range of restaurants, farm shops, cafes, delis and independent food producers taking part this year.”

Supporting the county’s food and drink businesses and encouraging consumers to shop locally and buy Leicestershire produce is an important part of the Food Fortnight and this year the special theme is about championing Leicestershire food and drink as “The Best of British”.

It runs from this Saturday until October 7.
