Tickets on sale for ferret race event

AN EVENING of ferret racing and fundraising is being hosted by a Lutterworth group to raise funds for a number of good causes.

The event takes place at Airfield Farm near Sulby on the evening of Saturday, June 16.

The event will feature five ferret races and people will have the opportunity to bet on their favourites.

As well as the ferret racing, there will be a ferret parade for children, a licensed bar, a huge tombola and stalls selling refreshments including ice creams, pancakes and sweets.

There will also be a hog roast.

The evening’s entertainment starts at 7pm and the first ferret race will start at 7.40pm.

Admission, which is by ticket only, is £10 for adults and £5 for children. Entry is free for under-fives.

The event has been arranged by the Rotary Club of Lutterworth and money raised is being donated to a number of Rotary-supported good causes.

For more information, and to book tickets, phone Graham Johnson on 01455 552991 or Elaine Turner on 01455 553425.

4 A number of knitted teddies donated to an appeal launched by Elaine Turner from the Rotary Club of Lutterworth have been sent to Peru to be given to a refugee centre which helps those made homeless in mudslides in the country earlier this year.

Elaine presented the teddies to a Peruvian Rotary member while on holiday in the South American country.
