Steam rally event and beer fest fun

A STEAM rally is taking place in Clipston this weekend as well as a beer and music festival.

The annual Clipston Steam Rally is taking place in and around Harborough Road in the village this Saturday and Sunday

There will be up to ten steam engines, some of which are a hundred-years-old, plus vintage cars and motorcycles.

The event has a strong tradition and has been going for more than 25 years.

Every penny raised from stalls and the steam engine rides round the village goes back to local good causes.

It was started and is still run by Allen Eaton, who has gained an MBE for his charitable work over the years.

This year’s event coincides with a beer festival this weekend featuring 20 real ales and ciders and live music at the Bull’s Head pub in Clipston.

In previous years the event has been held around The Red Lion but the pub has now ceased trading. It has now been moved to around The Bull’s Head and other friendly people nearby that are helping with parking for the engines.
