STUDENTS from Kibworth High School were taken on a trip to a Hindu temple as part of their autumn enrichment activities.

The students were taken on a Spirit of Leicester trip where they observed a Hindu Arti Ceremony on a visit to the Shree Ram Mandir Temple.

After the ceremony the students had the opportunity to ask questions.

Head of design and technology Ruth Singleton, who attended the trip, said: “This popular trip gives students an understanding of different regions and cultures that make Leicester such a rich and diverse city.”

The trip was enjoyed by Year 8 pupils at the school during three days from October 10 to 12.

The students were also taken to the popular Belgrave Road for lunch at a vegetarian Indian restaurant called Bobby’s.

Miss Singleton said for some pupils it was the first time they had tried curries and traditional Hindu Indian cuisine.

The day finished with a visit to some traditional Indian shops.
