Pressing ahead with apples event

A DAY of apples is coming to Harborough for a second time.

The second annual Apple Day is taking place in Harborough this Saturday.

Transition Town Harborough, which is organising the event, has been busy collecting apples and getting everything in place for the day.

Although the apple crop has been affected by the poor spring this year, windfalls appear to be in enough supply.

The Transition team will be demonstrating a community apple press being used and will let people sample the delicious end product.

There will also be stalls highlighting the group’s activities. The Transition group is organising the event as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting a more sustainable low-carbon community and lifestyle in Harborough.

The event is being held on The Square, Harborough, until 4pm on Saturday.
