No mention of economic benefit in 1,800 homes debate

I have followed with interest the debate over the 1,800 new homes to be built on the Airfield Farm/Lubenham development

Whilst I can understand and sympathise with the concerns of local residents, there has been very little mention of the economic benefits this development will bring to Market Harborough.

1,800 new homes and their residents will bring an increase of money spent on local goods and services. This will improve employment prospects for local people, strengthen the retail businesses (including the Market Hall) and enable Harborough District Council to improve their provision of services.

So long as the local infrastructure, roads, car parking, schools and medical services are improved I cannot foresee a major problem for the town
