Just what is truly important?
HAVING read your correspondence page in last week’s edition, I have felt the need to write to a newspaper for the first time in my life, as I am approaching 70.
I believe that every visitor to this country for the Olympics should be given a copy of your paper to show just what puts the ‘Great’ into Great Britain.
While the world is combating the largest economic depression since the 1930s, our troops are facing death daily in a war in Afghanistan that only a minority of people in the country appear to support, and respect for and confidence in politicians of all parties drains by the day, what is the burning topic affecting the correspondents to your weekly newspaper?
THE HYGIENIC HABITS OF SHOPPERS AND SUPERMARKET STAFF!
