Knitters are being invited to work together to help raise funds the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Trust by making leg-warmers for trampolinists.

Knitwear designer Rebecca Peach has joined up with Trampoline supplier Super Tramp to offer people a free pattern to make leg-warmers in aid of CFTrust.

Managing director of Super Tramp Chris Prentis said: “Once the leg-warmers are knitted we are asking people to send them back in so that they can be sold via our website in the run up to Christmas with all proceeds going to the CF Trust, which is our Charity of the Year.

“People can download or print off their free knitting pattern by visiting www.supertramp.co.uk

“Leg-warmers are great for garden trampolinists as they help keep their ankles warm in the cooler months, they can’t be made of man-made fibres because otherwise they can create too much static when bouncing.”

Laura Gallagher, who is sponsored by Super Tramp and is also a world European medallist trampolinist, will be helping to raise the money for the charity by also taking part in the knitting.

The CF Trust wishes to highlight the health benefits of bouncing to CF sufferers of which there are 9,300 in the UK.

Since 1964 it has supported excellence in research and clinical care as well as providing support and advice to people and their families.

The CF Trust is the UK’s only national charity dealing with all aspects of CF. Each week five babies are born with CF and two young lives are lost.
