Community fund voting evening arranged

AN EVENING of voting which will decide how a £15,000 pot of community cash is distributed is to be held on May 17.

Leicestershire County Council made the fund available for community projects in the Broughton Astley and Lutterworth area.

The county council has already received nominations for projects and these will be considered at a voting evening later this month.

A venue is yet to be confirmed for the event, but anyone interested in attending is asked to contact either 0116 3057034 or visit www.leicestershireforums.org where further details can be found.

More than a dozen projects have been nominated, including an application to upgrade floodlights at Lutterworth Tennis Club, a small grants fund which would be co-ordinated by Lutterworth Town Council and the purchase of a canoe for South Leicestershire Scouts, which would be shared by a number of groups.

This is the second year that the community fund has been made available in the Harborough district.
